Is this breed of dog good for first time owner?

umm i want to adopt a dog named Fezzy, a pug/chihahua mix.. Its less than 25 pound dog when full grown. I never own any pets with high maintainence before.. only have 4 goldfishes atm :3 umm is kirkland (costco) dog food a good brand? how bout pedigree
